Shakespeare on the River Festival Presents:

The Sheila Malady Short Story Competition

The Sheila Malady Short Story Competition is open for entries! This year, we have opted to launch our competition earlier than previous years - allowing us all a little extra time and space to create (and read!) some excellent fictional works with plenty of time before the 2025 Festival launch on Thursday, May 1st 2025.

The 2024/2025 short story theme is The Dark Side. Writers of fiction are warmly invited to submit stories of up to 2000 words for consideration by the judging panel. All genres of fiction are welcome.

Organisers are delighted to announce that shortlisted entries in the OPEN SECTION will be sent to our final judge, literary agent Anjanette Fennell from Key People Literary Management.
